What is the Operating System (OS) on Mvix Players?
Solution Mvix uses the a proprietary firmware built upon the Software Development Kit (SDK) supplied by the Chipset providers: SIGMA DESIGNS. This SDK includes various drivers with interface specifications, necessary tools and documentation for creating specific, feature-enabling applications.

The Software Development Kit enables embedding an application software that runs at the firmware layer to provide media center features, codec support and hardware functionality etc.. i.e. The proprietary firmware, which enables system setup, media decoding and remote management, resides on top of this SDK.

It should be noted that Mvix is compatible with Microsoft Windows-based Operating systems for transferring media files. Many Mvix users have also reported its compatibility with Mac-OS for both file transfer and network sharing. Mvix uses the NTFS or FAT32 file format system.
