Before attempting any troubleshooting, kindly ensure that the Subtitle option is enabled in your Mvix Setup Menu.
A subtitle file (in most cases) is a plain txt file that has and needs a specific ordered structure to work with video files. The .SRT file has a sequence of subtitles with an order number, followed by time frame, followed by text and a return space to separate each individual subtitle.
If your Subtitle file won't play at all, it may have some outlay errors. Open it with a txt editor and have a look that the time stamps are in order. You may be able to repair it loading it into a subtitle editor (such as, Subtitle Workshop)and resaving it. Subtitle Workshop has an error detection routine. In some cases, you may also need to edit the file by hand. Get a working subtitle of the format, and compare it to yours.
If you convert or edit a .SRT file, please ensure to set the output format according to what format your film is in (PAL, NTSC) because they have different frame rates.
Trick 1: A cool trick (that works sometimes) is to have "1" (number ONE) on the first line of the .SRT subtitle file. Try it out.
Trick 2: If you have file names like: movie.1.avi with movie.1.srt. Change the names to movie1.avi with subtitle file as movie1.srt . (i.e. Remove any PERIOD signs from the file name.) <-- This Trick was sent to us by David A. (Mvix Fan !)
