My Mvix (4000U or 5000U) player is having trouble recognizing the new firmware?
Solution

Certain old version Mvix players may have trouble recognizing new firmwares being launched by us.

Before attempting anything else, kindly ensure you have the correct firmware (for the model of Mvix player that you have).

* Please note that there are two firmwares for Mvix 5000U model - US/Canada model and EU (European Union) model. These firmware are different primarily due to the FM frequency ranges employed in these regions of the world. Kindly ensure that you download the correct firmware for your model.

If the downloaded firmware is correct and you are still unable to upgrade the firmware on your Mvix player, follow these simple steps:

1) Download the firmware file on your PC, and Unzip it.
2) Rename the (unzipped) firmware file to: gen_1_*.bin (where * is the release number, for example, for upgrading to firmware v1.40, rename the file to: gen_1_40.bin
3) Transfer the renamed firmware file to the UPGRADE folder of your Mvix player and follow the instructions of upgrading the firmware.
