USB Speeds can vary due to variety of reasons:
- Please ensure that you have the latest Service Packs installed on your Windows Operating System (e.g. SP4 for Win2K, SP2 for WiXP, etc)
- Please check that you are using a USB 2.0 compatible Operating System.
- Please check that you are using a USB 2.0 certified cable to connect to your PC.
- Some BIOS have settings for USB 2.0 controller for legacy devices. Please ensure that the BIOS controller is set to "Hi Speed" (USB 2.0) as opposed to "Full Speed" (USB 1.1).
- Please check that you have updated your USB USB host controller to the "Enhanced USB Host Controller" to utilize USB 2.0 functionality.
- If you motherboard has a VIA chipset and you are using Microsoft Windows XP w/SP2, kindly check for any conflicts.
Note: USB2.0, at 480 MB/sec, is 40 times faster than the original USB 1.1 at 12 MB/sec. USB 1.1 compliant USB cables will work with USB2.0.
