Solution

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to use the Bit Torrent client that is built into the MvixBOX WDN2000.

Required Software: Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Google Chrome

Purpose: Many users may want their favorite torrent downloads to be downloaded to the MvixBOX WDN2000 to eliminate having a PC turned on just for Bit Torrent download. This knowledgebase article provides support in using the included Bit Torrent client, so that the downloaded videos and music will be ready for them on their Mvix when they get home.


Adding a torrent file to download:

  1. Use your favorite web browser to bring up the web interface for your MvixBOX.
  2. If you do not know your IP address for your player: For Vista Users: Go to Start --> Right Click on Network, and Select Explore. XP Users, Can double click on Network Neighborhood.
  3. Right click on MVIXBOX, and select View Device Page.

  4. At the MvixBOX front page, login with your SysAdmin account.

  5. Double click the icon labeled BitTorrent/RSS.

  6. Next click on Register Torrent Site.


  7. You will now see a window with radio buttons where you can choose to browse to the torrent file, or provide the URL for the torrent file. For this example we will provide the URL for the torrent. Select the URL option and click on Next.

     

  8. Enter your URL into the text area and click on Register Torrent File.



  9. You will see a message that the file was succesfully added. If you get a failure here, please check to ensure the Torrent URL is valid. Click OK.


  10. You will see a message that the download has started. Click OK.


  11. You will now see the progress of the torrent file, and the file will be ready for you once it reaches 100%.
