This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to install ATI Catalyst and ATI Video drivers on the Mvix Minx when running the Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Purpose : Installing ATI Catalyst will ensure you are using the latest ATI video driver's, as well as the ATI hardware acceleration for displaying video.
Important Note: Under the BIOS settings, go to the NorthBridge settings, under 780g settings, onboard graphics and ensure the memory interleave is set to "auto" not fine"
.Installing ATI Catalyst: - Open your favorite web browser and navigate to: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx and follow the prompts to download ATY Catalyst for Windows Vista or Windows 7.
- Once the the ATI software is downloaded, start the installer. You will see the initial Welcome Screen, select Next .
- Click on Install .
- Select your installation directory, and select Express, then select Next .
- Next you will see the End User License Agreement, select Accept .
- Next you see a popup window, telling you that the installation directory does not exist, click on Yes.
- You will now see ATI catalyst analyze your system.
- You will now see ATI Catalyst install.
- Upon completion select Finish. You have now completed the install.
- Reboot your Mvix Minx.
- After reboot, if you right click on your taskbar, you will now see an ATI catalyst option where you can change Screen Resolution, as well as turn off Overscan, or Underscan.
