- Open the Computer Management dialog: Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
- In the left panel, expand the Local Users and Groups folder and select Users.
- In the right panel, find Guest user as shown in the picture below:
- Double click on the Guest user to open it.
- Uncheck the Account is disabled setting as shown below:
- Click OK to close the dialog.
- Open Local Security Settings dialog: Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Settings
- In the left panel, expand the Local Policies folder and select User Rights Assignment.
- In the right panel, locate Deny access to this computer from the network option as shown below:
- Double click Deny access to this computer from the network to edit
- Remove Guest from the list:
- Click OK to close the dialog.
- Using Window Explorer, find the folder that you are sharing.
- Right click on the folder and select Sharing and Security...
- In the Sharing tab, select the Share this folder radio button and give it a share name (no spaces). Leave other options unchanged.
- Move to the Security tab and click the Add... button. If you do not see the Security tab then you may have Simple File Sharing enabled. Please try disabling this by going to Control Panel => Folder Options => View tab and then uncheck the Use Simple File Sharing checkbox.
- You need to add Guest user to the list of user names. The format of this name is <COMPUTER_NAME>\Guest. For example, if your machine name is MYCOOLPC, then you need to add the following user: MYCOOLPC\Guest
- The default permissions should be sufficient but do make sure that the Read and List Folder Contents permissions are allowed for the user.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
- Reboot your PC
- Once your PC has rebooted, start your Mvix MX-760HD/MX-780HD, ensure you have a network connection, and press Refresh a few times to display the shared folder.
