How to create a m3u audio playlist for the Mvix Ultio and Ultio Pro
Solution
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create m3u playlist for your Mvix Ultio.
Purpose:
The Ultio/Ultio Pro through it's built in functionality only supports one playlist. It does however support m3u playlists, which can contain links to music in various directories on your Ultio/Ultio Pro, that it can play back.
Requirements:
Notepad, or other text editor.
Creating a m3u playlist
:
Open Notepad
A m3u is constructed with the directory location and name of the mp3 file. The base directory for the internal hard drive will be ./ .
In notepad you will want to enter ./Directory Name/Directory Name/filename.mp3.
Your entry in notepad would look like this:
./music/2pac.wma
./music/Scarlet Begonias.mp3
./music/40 Oz To Freedom.mp3
This would mean the song Scarlet Begonias would be located in a folder named music, in the root of the Ultio's/Ultio Pro's internal drive.
Save the m3u file to your Ultio/Ultio Pro.
Playing a m3u playlist
:
There are two ways to playback m3u playlists.
Option A: Highlight the m3u file, then hit the
pause/step
button, and it will start playing the first song in the playlist, and then continue through the rest of the songs on the playlist.
Option B: Highlight the m3u file and hit the
OK
button. This will then give you a listing of all the songs in the playlist. You can then use the select button to select the tracks to play, and then hit the ok button to play the tracks.
