This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how
to add samba mounts for the Mvix Ultio,
using the updated Samba
module found here Samba
Module 1.1
NOTE: THIS WILL NO LONGER WORK ON FIRMWARE 3.0/3.12 and NEWER FIRMWAREPurpose : Show the steps to add Samba mounts
to the Mvix Ultio's internal drive.
Steps:
- Ensure you have a telnet client. For our example we will be using
the Windows Telnet client.
- Go to Start -> Run -> type CMD <enter>. You should then
see the Command Prompt Window.

- telnet ultio <enter>.
- When prompted for the username type root <enter>.

- You will now be logged into the Ultio. Type vi /tmp/hdd/root/samba/mountdrives.sh<enter>
This will put you into VI editor mode.
- Hit the down arrow until you get to the bottom line. Hit the right
arrow until you get to the end of the example line, and hit 'a', then
'enter'.
- Now you will need to mirror the example and type "mount -t cifs -o
username=guest //serverIP/sharename /tmp/usbmounts/sda1/Mountpoint". If using an account which requires a password the username=account should be followed by ,password=userpassword. Then hit the Escape key 'Esc', hit the ':' key, type 'x!', and then 'enter'. The file will now be saved.
*NOTE* Users of firmware 2.11 and above will need to use /tmp/HDD/volumes/HDD1/ . Also the paths in linux ARE case sensative.

- Now we need to create the mount point, type "mkdir
/tmp/usbmounts/sda1/Mountpoint". *NOTE* Users of firmware 2.11 and above will need to use /tmp/HDD/volumes/HDD1

- At this point you can either run the command /tmp/hdd/root/samba/mountdrives.sh
This will mount the samba share you specified. If you type
mount
<enter> you will then see the mounted Samba share.

- You have now concluded the setup. Whenever the Ultio boots, it will mounts this Samba share.
