This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to setup your Mvix Primus Digital Signage Player.

Purpose : Show the steps to setup a Mvix Primus Digital Signage player, ensure the player has been added to the count, and update/add a player to your account.

NOTE:  It is recommended you use Internet Explorer to work with the Mvix Primus Web-Application Content Management System.  Use of any other browser could cause errors.

Steps:

Check Site for Player

1. Browse to the Primus site, and enter your login, password, and corp ID.
   
   


2. Once Logged in, click on "Player Management".
   
   
   
   
3. Once in the Player Management area, on the left select "Default". You should see your player listed, and it should be online. If it does not show online, ensure it has network connectivity and is enabled. This will ensure your player ready to receive content, and a playlist. If you cannot bring your player online, please open a support ticket so we can work with you on configuring this.
   
   
   

Adding a Player



1. Click on "Player", then "Player Management".
   
   
   
   
2. Select the group to add the player to, then click on add in the lower right corner.
   
   


3. Enter the Player ID, Player Name, and address if you'd like. Then Click "OK".
   
   
   


4. The player will now be added to the group. Ensure to follow the Player Configuration steps to bring your player online, and configure the correct video resolution.
   
   
   

Configuring a Player



1. Click on "Player", then "Player Setting".
   
   
   
   
2. Under Player Type, Select "Advanced Type"
   
   


3. Select your Video Output, Resolution, and ensure Server IP Address is http://208.118.44.98:8000. Here you can also decide if the player will use DHCP, or Static IP.
   
   
   


4. Next click the download button. You will see links to two files, config.txt and newconfig.txt. Right click each of these files and save them.
   
   
   
   
5. Once the files are saved, rename them from config.txt to config, and from newconfig.txt to newconfig.  Plug the USB thumbdrive with newconfig and config into the Mvix Primus.
   
   
6. Reboot the Mvix Primus. Upon reboot, the unit will read the configuration file, and update the player.
