This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how
to setup the Mvix Nubbin 802.11n wireless adapter on OS X 10.6.2.
Purpose : Show the steps to setup the Mvix Nubbin 802.11n wireless adapter on OS X 10.6.2.
Steps:
- Unzip the Driver Archive you downloaded from the support site.
- Go inside the unzipped folder then click on the USBWireless-10.6 folder.

- In the folder find the USBWireless-SnowLeopard.pkg and run it.

- The RALink USB Wireless Installer will be displayed. Click Continue.

- At the Standard Install screen select Install.

- Enter your usename and password to authenticate the installation, and click OK.

- The installation will require you to reboot. Click on Continue Installation.

- You will now see the installer run.

- After the installer finishes, click on Restart. If the installer fails to install, please run the installer a second time. This is a known bug with Snow Leopard.

- After the reboot, connect the Nubbin. You will see window below, click on the Network Preferences button.

- In the Network Preferences window, select the Nubbin adapter, and click Apply.
- Now copy the RaLink Wireless Utility from the Applications Folder to your dock. This application will need to run at every boot to connect to the Wireless Access Point. This is a limitation of OS X.
- Run the Utility, and you will see the Access Points within range. Select your Access Point and then select Add Profile.
- Enter the Profile Name, and SSID, then click on the Authentication & Security Tab.

- Under Authentication & Security, select the Authentication Type, the Encryption type, and enter your Network Key. Then click on OK.

- Under the Profile tab, select the Profile, and click on Activate.

- In the Wireless Utility you should see a yellow check mark, with a green background next to the profile. If not, please check your security/encryption settings.

- Under Network Preferences you will now see the active connection and the IP.

- Upon future reboots the Ralink Wireless utility will come up, and the preffered connection/profile will be used to connect.
- If the installer fails to install, please run the installer a second time. This is a known bug with Snow Leopard.
