Mvix Plays .mkv Files.....Well, Almost!

.mkv (Matroska Multimedia Container) is gaining popularity as an excellent open-source format. It works in an envelope (container) concept in which there can be many audio, video and subtitles streams, allowing the user to store a complete hi-def movie, video or a DVD in a single file. In the past few months, we have received some "feature queries" from our users - when will my Mvix play MKV?

Well we are almost there! While our next generation media centers (expected soon) will have direct MKV decoding capability, our MvixGuru team has found out a way to play MKV files on your present Mvix player. Simply download a freeware to convert a MKV file into a Xvid / AVI and enjoy the smooth playback on Mvix ... needless to say "... the playback quality is brilliant.." Read on....
